8 Stunning Hotel Baths You Won’t Want to Get Out Of

Apparently, January 8th is National Bubble Bath Day, but at these 8 hotels with spectacular tubs or bath programs, you never need an excuse for a relaxing hot soak.

There’s nothing more simply indulgent than shutting the world out in a warm water cocoon—particularly in the winter, when a steamy bath is the perfect escape from the season’s icy grip. Of course, the concept only gets better when you take it to these eight hotels, where baths are so considered, and the tubs so beautiful, the activity almost takes on the grandeur of an ancient ritual. The only challenging part becomes deciding when it’s time to get out.

Capella Ubud

Leave it to renowned architect Bill Bensley to elevate the Bali experience to unimaginable highs at this resort in Ubud. Inspired by the layered aesthetic of the Spice Trade routes of the 18th century, this nearly 10-acre sprawl of lushness and style leaves something to be discovered at every turn—including the bathtubs. The 22 tented camps and the two-bedroom lodge are all outfitted with stunning hand-hammered copper tubs, which each took about 100 hours to make.

Craveiral

This two-year-old farmhouse-style hotel in Portugal’s Alentejo region recently added the 915-square-foot Farmer’s House to its inventory of mid-century-inspired casas. With its Hastens bed, Smeg furnishing, a dedicated library, and access to a smaller private pool (which is shared among a few other top-tier room categories), this is one of the most luxurious bookings on property. Its master bathroom is especially fabulous, thanks to a multi-jet shower and an Instagram-ready sculptural standalone tub made entirely of cork, one of the region’s most emblematic crops. The tub is manufactured by Granorte and designed by Carlos Mendonça and Alzira Peixoto, all of whom are Portuguese.

This property is famous for its spectacular underwater gourmet dining room, but you don’t actually have to venture far from your overwater bungalow to get that close to marine life. The bathtubs here are not only sunken into the floors of the bungalows, but also feature clear glass bottoms that allow you to watch colorful fish swimming by during your soak. In-room spa treatments can also incorporate a soak in the bathtub (tempered with essential oils) for an even more relaxing experience.

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

One of InterContinental’s flagship properties, this seaside haven is full of eye-catching design details that marry local inspiration and fits of whimsy, and which extend into the luxurious bathrooms. There’s plenty to take note of, from wood-spindled windows reminiscent of Vietnamese temples to hanging mirrors in the silhouette of Hoi An lanterns. The deep-soaking terrazzo tub, sculpted like a smooth flower, is watched over by a cast-aluminum ostrich—an antique find that serves as a quirky bathroom butler.

This 367-room luxury hotel—one of our favorites in Vancouver—offers countless types of indulgent bathtubs, but the most special just might be the Japanese Ofuro Tub that’s tucked into some of its signature room, many of which also come with harbor and mountain views. This deep-soaking, marble-cloaked square tub is built with jets, a bench, and a ledge where you can comfortably rest a bottle of British Columbia wine. The resident bath butler can further enhance the experience by providing bath salts and oils or even a plate of snacks from the hotel’s top-notch kitchen.

Not far from the lively bustle of Montego Bay, this stylish seaside resort has it all: a holistic spa, clever design, a variety of dining options, and endless ways to plunge into water, from the main pool surrounded by swim-out cabanas to the antiquities-inspired wellness plunge pools. Bath lovers should book the two-floor Signature Sky Suite, which comes with a unique—and massive– wicker-wrapped soaking tub designed by Antrobus + Ramirez to give even time in the bathroom an island feel.

Dunton Hot Springs

Tucked away in the tranquil San Juan Mountains just outside Telluride, this exclusive Colorado resort combines outdoorsy pursuits—like snowshoeing or cross-country skiing on trails laid out by former Olympic Nordic skier Wendy Wegner during the winter—with hot springs-based relaxation. There are many ways to partake of these natural, mineral-rich waters, but the most private option is found in the Well House cabin, which is equipped with a rustic tub fed by the springs themselves. It’s the perfect remedy for treating ski-weary muscles.

Bath enthusiasts staying at this modern Scottsdale, Arizona resort at the foot of Camelback Mountain should book one of the Immerse Guestrooms, which come with 62-square-foot balconies and plenty of space in which to spread out. Then upgrade your stay with the Bath Butler Experience, which features an Herbivore Coconut Milk Bath Soak, bubble bath, tea light candles, and a resort copper candle; a bottle of wine and chocolate-dipped strawberries further add to the decadence. From the bath itself, views of the fabled peak are nothing short of jaw-dropping.
