Beverly Hills is coming to Paris’s Avenue Montaigne this summer

Paris’s glamorous Hôtel Plaza Athénée is getting a California make-over courtesy of its Dorchester Collection cousin, the Beverly Hills Hotel, as its terrace restaurant will become The Cabana Café for the second year running.

Taking inspiration from the famous shaded terrace of the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Parisian version at La Terrasse Montaigne will feature the same green and white striped seating, banana leaf print cushions, pink polo shirts, beige chinos and white sneakers of the original, with the menu also designed in the same colour, transforming it into The Cabana Café.

Four special dishes have been created for the occasion: the McCarthy salad, Sunset Club sandwich, poké bowl and Caesar salad, as well as three milkshakes. There will also be wild shrimps, spicy guacamole and African bird’s eye chili, as well as a comprehensive cocktail list.

Dubbed the Pink Palace, the Beverly Hills Hotel is one of the most famous hotels in the world, and was the real life inspiration behind The Eagles’ hit single, ‘Hotel California’. An A-list favourite, it’s seen the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and John Lennon pass through its hallowed halls.

Meanwhile its French counterpart the Plaza has a reputation for being thehaute couture hotel in the fashion capital, and is the place to stay for editors attending Paris Fashion Week. A neighbour of Christian Dior’s flagship store on Avenue Montaigne, it has seen countless Dior shows taking place here over the years, with the first ever Dior Institut spa built here 10 years ago.
